This is a question I have heard many times over. In Maryland, we have quite a few.
Baying Hound Aleworks, okay, so I list my brewery first. We’ve done some events with some of the other “big dogs” we might not be the Alpha, but we are making a noise. Right in Rockville, MD just off of East Gude.
Dog Brewing Company, couldn’t find a website for them. The are situated in Westminster, MD. The handle a couple contract brews such as Pub Dog, Stillwater, and Mikkeller. Owned by George Humbert, a hell of a nice guy.
DuClaw Brewing Company. For those of you who don’t know what a dewclaw is, its a dog thing. If you are a dog owner, you’ll know what it is. It’s a little nail or claw on a dog’s foot. I included the wikipedia entry for it. They have brew pubs in Hanover, Bel Air, Bowie, and in Baltimore out by the airport. I swear I’ve seen there stuff in stores too.
Flying Dog Brewery, a transplant from Colorado. Sorry Colorado, your loss, our gain. They are out by Frederick, MD. We’ve done a few events with them. Matt Brophy, the VP Brewing Operations at Flying Dog Brewery, is a hell of a nice guy. Quoted him saying, “Size doesn’t matter,” not what you think, he was talking about breweries, it got a huge chuckle.
Some day, I’ll compile a larger list of more of the dog related breweries throughout the country.
